Weather:
A very nice day! Fairly strong WNW Winds, extremely warm (17.3-22.7C),
mostly sunny early then mostly cloudy (85% cloud cover) after 11am. Clear
visibility with some distant haze. Some rain showers visible over the
valley to the west but no precipitation at the watch.
Raptor Observations:
Slow but steady throughout the day. Many, many Red-tails (way more than
usual!) visible all day long but very few in migrating mode. A Kestrel
scooted down the east side of the gap this morning and a Merlin gave nice,
long looks as it slowly made its way southward with lots of circling at
1:15pm. Immature Harrier at 11:15 and adult Bald Eagle at 3:54. First
Raptor: 9:26 SS, Last Raptor: 4:07 RT (x2)
Non-raptor Observations:
1 Ring-billed Gull, 96 Crows, 435 Waxwings, 175 RW Blackbirds, 1 Cowbird,
14 Goldfinches, and 7 Monarch Butterflies.
