Weather:
Rains moved in from the WSW overnight with a short dry period before 9am.
First 30 minutes of the watch were actually 8:30-9:00am and then the count
continued again at 1:00pm (HawkCount didn't allow the day's count to be
split). Low, dark overcast clouds all day. Rain starting at 9:00am with
steady rain for the next 4 hours, decreasing to a drizzle at 1pm, then dry
after 2pm with fog rolling in over the ridge. Moderate W winds all day.
Temp. dropping throught the day 18.4-12.0C.
Raptor Observations:
An adult, male Northern Harrier flapped its way over the gap at 8:35am.
Several Red-tailed Hawks kiting throughout the day with one moving through
in the afternoon.
Non-raptor Observations:
Lots of Waxwings, Robins and Red-winged Blackbirds moving through. A couple
of Black and Turkey Vultures appears around 2pm.
Predictions:
Clear and mostly sunny.
