Visitors:
Walt Childs, Doug Grahm (Winchester), Barb and Greg Goodson, and a few
others.
Weather:
Poor weather today. Heavy fog in morning that lifted just enough by 9:30 to
view low portions of the west valley. The east valley was more open. The
fog remained heavy overhead all day with grey, overcast clouds. Light WNW
breeze early shifting to moderate NE wind after 1pm. Visibility was very
poor as it fluctuated from zero to 1-2 miles. Thick fog and rain moved in
at 1:30pm. Temp started out at 25.2C and dropped to 23C.
Raptor Observations:
A lone Broad-winged Hawk out to the east early (looking lonely and lost). A
nice adult Bald Eagle flew in low from the west right through the gap below
eye level at 12:28pm.
Non-raptor Observations:
A nice group of 16 Common Nighthawks moved south at low altitude on the
west side of the gap. 4 Monarchs, 77 Chimney Swift, a Yellow-billed Cuckoo,
a local Red-tailed Hawk.
Predictions:
Rain
