Weather:
Thick fog filled Rockfish Gap for most of the day so the count was
conducted from the alternate count site at Constitution Park in Waynesboro.
Drizzles throughout the morning but low, dark clouds with rain moved in at
12pm. Very light east breezes with warm temperatures (23.3-25.6C).
Raptor Observations:
A few raptors moving through during the best weather of the day between
10:45-11:30am. An adult male Harrier at 10:59 was seen circling with two
vultures and an Osprey.
Non-raptor Observations:
Several groups of Common Nighthawks totaling 45 birds flew over giving some
nice views. 24 Monarch Butterflies.
