Weather:
Light rain early and in the 12-1pm hour. Overcast with dark clouds all
day. Light and variable breezes early and moderate southerly breezes this
afternoon. 13-22C temperature range. Hazy.
Raptor Observations:
Slow but enough Accipiters to keep us entertained. A midday Merlin made a
direct flyover and briefly harassed a Sharp-shinned. Immature Harrier at
3:37. First Raptor: 8:27 SS, Last Raptor: 3:59 SS.
Non-raptor Observations:
A big Blue Jay migration today with 1,617 counted. A high flyover Wilson's
Snipe was a nice surprise. Other sightings included 9 Wood Ducks, 46
Chimney Swifts, 4 Hummingbirds, 1 Kingfisher, 3 Red-headed Woodpeckers, 7
Flickers, 201 Tree Swallows, 1 Purple Finch, 3 Cape May Warblers, 1 BT
Green Warbler, 2 Scarlet Tanagers, and 22 Monarch Butterflies.
