Around 1pm today while at home I noticed a bird I thought looked different
to me, upon getting the binocs and the books out, I identified the bird as a
male Rose Breasted on top of my feeder. This is a life bird for me. I kept
watching the feeder and another bird appeared that looked different to me
and upon watching and looking and our books I identified the bird to be a
female Rose Breasted (another life bird). The male was absolutely beautiful
but only stayed a minute. I had to leave around 1:30pm to go get my little
girl from school.
Also while at Lewis Gale hospital in Salem around 4pm I spotted a Coopers
hawk being tormented by a crow. The crow left when the coops dived on him
and a few black feathers came from the crow. And then saw 2 Sharp-Shinn's
messing with each other. What a great day of birding without trying. Happy
birding peeps.
