I just received a call from Sue Heath reporting 3 Rough Legged Hawks at
Northfork Wetlands in Faquier Co. Apparently Sue, Todd Day and Laura
Catterton are getting excellent views of these birds. They report 1
light phase, 1 dark phase and a third that was undetermined when I spoke
with Sue.
Direction to Northfork Wetlands:
Follow Rt. 66 to Rt. 15 exit and turn south (first stop light)
to Rt. 55 then go west (right) on Rt. 55 several miles to Rt. 682
Thoroughfare Rd. (on right) continue about 1/4 mi. and look for a small
pull off on the right side of the road near a gate.
The birds have been observed hunting over the fields.
