Two Royal Terns were flying around Sandy River Reservoir this morning,
feeding and vocalizing, from about 6:40 until shortly after 8 a.m., when I
left. They were flying up and down the lake but were visible from the main
boat ramp parking lot (off Monroe Church Road, off US 460) much of the time.
I also saw an immature Little Blue Heron briefly (presumably the one seen
yesterday); today I saw NO sign of the two Sooty Terns seen there yesterday.
Other typical/expected species were present: two adult Bald Eagles, an
Osprey, et al.
