I birded Cumberland Marsh in New Kent yesterday. Lots of Ruby Crowned Kinglets as well as a fair number of Yellow Rumps. Came home and saw a White Throated Sparrow on the deck floor eating spilled seed, and several Ruby Crowned Kinglets in the plum trees, and Yellow Rumps in the Crab Apples. I guess I could have saved some gas and birded my own yard:) Also in my yard a pair of noisy Yellow Bellied Sapsuckers, and a few Flickers. The Vultures have taken up residence in their new tree, after their old tree fell over last winter. Gliding in just before dark, and then grumbling about who sits where:) Still no sign of the Red Breasted Nuthatches, but I put out the peanut feeder just in case.
It so nice to see all my old friends again.
Got a few images of them.. No Sapsucker photos yet. They stayed on the wrong side of the tree, as usual..
