Beautiful sunrise at Rudee Inlet with a temperature close to 50 degrees.
Black Scoters (15) diving along the rocks on the north side of the inlet.
Forty or so Cormorants on the breakwater to the south. With the rising sun
in from the ocean flew Red-breasted Mergansers (8), Greater Scaup (10) and a
few Canada Geese. A little while later I spotted a solitary Bufflehead in
the in inlet. On Lake Rudee there were a pair of Osprey successfully
catching fish, a few Brown Pelicans, a trio of Red-breasted Mergansers with
the male displaying, a single Red-necked Grebe and a Horned Grebe
diving/feeding.
