With a blooming redbud outside the office door, I've had the camera set up
all day to photograph goldfinches and other birds sitting in it. To my
surprise, I once noticed a ruffed grouse crossing the yard toward a
crabapple tree. I quickly got on the camera and was able to photograph it
through the branches of the redbud.
Next it flew into the crabapple and began eating blossoms and leaves. After
leaving the Indian Magic crabapple, it soon returned and flew into our other
crabapple.
Out of the 283 photos taken, twenty-some are on our website. These are
