I encountered a flock of about 20 Rusty Blackbirds while birding this morning
at Algonkian Park. Other interesting birds included two Fox Sparrows, a Barred
Owl, and two Bald Eagles -- one adult and one sub-adult -- soaring high above
park.
The Audubon Society of Northern Virginia is sponsoring a bird walk at Algonkian
tomorrow, 15 March, at 0800. If you're in the area and have the morning free,
please consider joining us. We'll meet at the boat ramp.
