5 Red Crossbills seen feeding in a grove of pines up on Judge Rye Rd. in
western Shenandoah Co.Elevation about 3000 ft. I heard them first, very
vocal and chatty.Two males and 3 females. This is the same type habitat as
the Redish Knob area in western Rockingham Co. where I've seen them in
other years. My first crossbills, though, in Shenandoah Co.
