I birded some of the rivers today on low tide in the Norfolk area. Wayne Creek
and Lafayette River from Tidewater drive . These spots have great mudflats to
look for shorebirds . On Wayne Creek lots of Yellow Cr. N. Herons and Great
egrets were feeding . At the Lafayette river location more of the same , a
Clapper Rail was on the east side of tidewater Dr. , 4 Least Terns were feeding
here also.
At Lynnhaven Inlet 6 Sandwich Terns , 31 Royal Terns , 4 Common Terns , 1
Forster's Tern , 19 Least Terns , 6 Black Skimmer and 1 Least Sandpiper were on
flats .
