An early morning walk along some of the beach areas at Chincoteague NWR
produced some nice shorebird sightings highlighted by 2 piping plovers and
a single Wilson's plover. Other sightings included 18 black bellied
plovers, 7 semipalmated plovers, 40-50 sanderlings, 1 marbled godwit, 19
willets, 9 American oystercatchers, a single least sandpiper and 11
semipalmated sandpipers.
