Hello all
The other day I was talking to Yulee Larner & she told me about a couple of
Short -- eared Owls that were being seen in the Swoope area on Rt. 876 . Well
this evening at 5:15 pm Pat & I saw five Short -- eared Owls flying high up in
the air . I guess they just came off of their roost . The 5 Owls disappeared
quickly as they made their way to the ground in search of food . I am not sure
but I think that there may be a sixth Owl . Also yesterday evening I was
talking to my nephew Daniel who lives in the Weyers Cave area on Rt 773 . He
stated that he has been seeing an Owl just at dusk . This may be another Short
-- eared . The Weyers Cave Airport needs to be checked out for these Owls . We
did not find the Rough -- legged Hawk that Jon Little found the other day .
To back track a few days at McCune's on the 17th I had 8 Shoveler's .
