The Audubon Society of Northern Virginia visited Sky Meadows State Park this
morning. It was a nice morning and the local breeders were fairly active. We
walked the woodpecker trail to the field above the barns, and then the Snowden
trail loop. Highlights were red-headed woopeckers in good numbers, Lousiana
waterthrush along the Snowden trail, 2 American kestrels on the silo above the
fishing pond, and grasshopper sparrow in the fields near the silo. Seen prior
to the walk were a mute swan and green heron at the fishing pond. We tallied
