For the third year in a row, a pair of Barn Swallows still has an active nest
on the back porch of the Mt. Bleak House. I saw at least one nestling.
I found a nice little flock of songbirds near the intersection of the North
Ridge and South Ridge Trails - a few Indigo Buntings, a Worm-eating Warbler,
two male Hooded Warblers and 2 Towhees.
Back on July 12, another volunteer and I saw a Black Bear from the Bridle
Trail, my first bear in the park.
