Hi,
On Saturday morning I led a bird walk, sponsored by the park for approx. 3
hours
at Sky Meadows. We walked a loop from the Visitor Center to the Walnut Grove,
then along the Gap Run Trail (extension) to Boston Mill Rd. and back to the
V.C. I also birded alone in other areas. Thank you to all who came. We had a
nice time enjoying each others company and observing the birds.
The LEAST FLYCATCHER is still singing near the junction of Rte. 17 and Edmonds
Lane.
A flock of 11 Purple Martins was in the air over the Gap Run Trail ext. Soon
after we saw them they cooperatively alighted in a dead tree close by. We
noted
one adult male, the rest were adult female and/or immature. We enjoyed
watching
the beautiful Red-headed Woodpeckers. We met up w/ a high school student and
her dad. She is doing a study of the Red-headeds at Sky Meadows for her high
school class.
