This morning the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy & the Audubon Naturalist Society
sponsored a walk at Sky Meadows State Park, Fauquier Co, this morning. The
highlight of the walk actually occurred before the walk when several of us saw
a single BANK SWALLOW on the wires along the rd into the park. Also nice was a
flock of RAVENS playing in the vicinity of the pond prior to the walk, a BLUE
GROSBEAK near the Visitor Center, several BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLERS, and
the park's ever-present RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS. There were also lots of
butterflies (18 species) but not as many species as were seen earlier.
