Took a walk along the Shearmans Mill trail in Sky Meadows yesterday May 17.
Highlight was a Black-billed Cuckoo which is a lifer for me. Fortunately it
was cooperative, flying over to a tree next to me allowing time to check
field marks and take a few photos. Not a lot of warbler diversity with the
most numerous being Blackpoll and Redstart. Saw a Yellow warbler and heard
several Common Yellowthroats. Also saw several Chats starting at parking
lot and continuing across brushy field along stream. I haven't seen Chats
there before so either I missed them or they are settling in to this site.
Saw several Baltimore Orioles gathering nest material.
