Weather:
Warm and hazy. Nice west wind in the morning that died after lunch. The
only clouds were persistent jet trails.
Raptor Observations:
The UB was a possible Swainson's Hawk. Dark buteo with long slim pointed
wings. It did a few swoops, a steep dive and a graceful barrel roll down
behind the crest of the west ridge and never reappeared. As Pete Dunne
wrote in Hawks in Flight, if your Harrier turns into a buteo, it's a
Swainson's. About a one minute look. No pictures. 3:40 pm EDT.
