Many apologies for the late posting......From 11 to at least 3pm a Snow
Bunting was feeding in the grass behind the Newcastle Hotel at 12th &
Atlantic beside the Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum. Tom and I were at
the museum for the book signing by Scott Bastian "*Virginia Beach
Naturally".* Scott's son saw the bird and he alerted us. Several people who
came to the book signing were able to go see the bird and get pictures. It
was not bothered by people on bikes near by on the bike path or any of us
that stood a little closer in the grass, perhaps 10 to 12 yards away. Every
time I saw the bird it was eating and it kind of made me think perhaps it
had just finished migrating into the area (as the gold book shows arrival
dates of Nov 15th) and was resting and eating. It was a life bird for us
and we had no other sightings to compare behavior to. For those of you that
have seen the bird, do they normally let you get that close?
