Hello all
Yesterday the 17th I went out looking for what ever that showed up with the
weather system that came thru our area . In Waynesboro the Trumpeter Swan is
still hanging around as well as of this morning . In the area of Middlebrook I
came across about one hundred Horned Lark . I only got to see them in flight
for they went over a hill & settled down . After 5 pm I went to Bells lane &
got the continuing 7 Short - eared Owl's This morning I traveled up to
Rockbridge County to Willow Lake to see if the White - winged Scoter was still
around & it was . The Scoter was hanging out with two Mute Swan's with one
being a Juv. , one Redhead & one Ring - necked Duck .
I came back into Augusta County & went to the Fishersville Quarry where there
were about 450+ Canada's , 18 GWF Geese several Coot, Redhead & a few mallard
. Over in Waynesboro where the two ponds are on Ivy St ( Rt 254) The Trumpeter
Swan still hang out with the 250+ Canada's , pintail , Am. Wigeon , Gadwall &
Mallard .
