Fox Sparrows are a rare sight in my yard but this morning one appeared, then
another and a third. I have never seen more than one at a time before.
Then just before sunset, to top it all off, there were 6 of them scratching
on the ground or sitting in the dogwood and they hung around for quite a
long time. I am always lamenting that I seldom see sparrows but today with
the earlier Fox Sparrows I had 2 White-throated Sparrows.
I guess the Fox Sparrows are just passing through as the maps show that they
spend their summers near the Arctic Circle!
