During the winters of 2000-2001 and 2001-2002, I saw a partial albino
Dark-eyed Junco at my feeder off and on. Its head and face were white, with
two
exceptions: there was a somewhat irregularly shaped patch of normal gray
feathers
across its crown from above one eye to above the other eye; and the area
covered by white did not come all the way down to the line between head and
body on
the back of the neck. It interacted with other juncos and other species in
quite normal fashion. It was a striking bird!
