Yesterday morning, we banded a male and female pair of Summer Tanagers
at the MAPS station at Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve. This was the
first record of this species being banded at this banding station.
Both were of breeding age, and they apparently flew into the net
together. They were released, together, and flew off, together.
Summer Tanager has been seen at the preserve, previously, but we were
not aware of any breeding pairs.
