Hello all
Todays birding turned out to be a good day here in Augusta County . To start
off with as I had stated in an earlier post we have at least three Sedge Wrens
out on Rt. 876 which intersects with Rt. 602 . Other birds in that area are as
follows .
Great Blue Heron -- 5 as of this morning
Killdeer -- 1
Kingfisher -- 1
Sedge Wren -- 2 with a possible 3rd bird
Loggerhead Shrike -- 2
Smith's
Great Blue Heron -- 4
Wood Duck -- 15
Solitary Sandpiper -- 1
Spotted Sandpiper --2
McCunes
Great Blue Heron -- 2
Quillen's
Great Blue -- 2
Great Egret -- 1
Bells Lane
Great Blue -- 1
Green Heron -- 1
I ended the day with 3 new records for Augusta County & one for the Mountains &
Valleys . Great Blue Heron -- 14 new summer peak count , Wook Duck -- 15 new
summer peak count & Sedge Wren -- 2 to 3 -- first summer record -- fourth
county record & third summer record for Mountains & Valleys . Happy birding to
