Was out in a light rain at C.F. Smith in Arlington today, had a few signs of
fall. There were two or three Swamp Sparrows skirting around the stream
around noon. A Ruby-Crowned Kinglet was seen about half an hour later, also
at the stream, and a little after that there was a nice male Magnolia
Warbler, the only warbler I saw. Phoebes and Red-Bellied Woodpeckers seemed
to be everywhere, and a Red Tailed Hawk announced his presence with his
cinematic call, while being rapidly escorted from the area by a few crows.
