The Birder Identity
"I can tell you the number of life birds I've seen at every birding site in
this state. I can tell you that this Redstart is an adult female, and the crow
we hear is a Fish Crow. I know that the best place to find an owl is wherever
the crows are noisy in the woods. I know that at this altitude I can bird for
6 hours before I get eyestrain. I knew that you were my first, best option to
get into Cape May.
How can I know all that, and not know who I am, what day it is, what time I'm
supposed to be at work, or what's on TV tonight? How is that possible?"
