VA BIRDers,
Tough birding at The Point today; big groups were not encountered. Mainly
singles or a few were found in various spots. One had to visit all the
likely locations to get a decent list. Highlights after several hours were
Snowy Egret in the tidal vegetation, Green Heron at the little pond on
Cockpit Rd, Yellow-bellied Flycatcher singing, two different Acadian
Flycatchers (one still singing), Blue-headed Vireo singing, Philadelphia
Vireo, and Yellow-throated and Cape May Warblers. The list of notables at

Afterwards, I paid a visit to the Belmont Bay marina (north end of
Woodbridge) and scoped the bay - 8 American Coots still present but no sign
of scaup.
