Hello everyone!
Nice and warm outside again this morning.........in my dreams! Hope all of you
are staying safe and warm. One of a pair of Eastern Towhee that normally
occupy my back yard area returned yesterday. Just as I was about to declare a
missing bird report, the male popped up in the snow covered bramble. I get the
camera and it disappears. We play hide and seek, off and on, for an hour. It
finally holds up a little sign giving me permission for a few photos after
already eating a ton of food.
Actually, I was wondering where it had gone off too as it was late returning.
Now I am waiting for mama Towhee. They don't normally come out until we have
inclement weather, and we surely have had enough of that. I have
not seen the Pine Warbler for a few days since it's battle with two
Yellow-Rumped Warblers. The two Yellow-Rumped Warblers have now become three
and they are all now arguing over who owns the suet feeders. It's a blast out
back, in more was than one.
Here is a link to Mr Eastern Towhee, if you care to have a look.

A question: How do saltwater birds remove the salt from their feathers? Please
answer off list and thanks!
Be careful out there and best birding!
