Since I saw others noting this I thought I'd add my observation - Saturday
evening after dark, between 7:30 and 7:45, three different groups of Tundra
Swans
flew overhead. I was in a friend's back yard not far from the Krispy Kreme on
Rt.
1 in Alexandria (close enough to smell it when the "HOT" light is on!), trying
to
hear over his talking because I sure thought it sounded like Tundra Swans
whooping somewhere. Then after some silence I heard more, and then we were out
front of the house and I heard a third group, and this time was able to see them
up above, white bellies reflecting the suburban light pollution - it looked like
around 70 of them, and they were flying due north in a nice wide "V".
I guess it's that time!
Happy birding,
