There was a lot of activity on the water this morning. A large flock of 46
TUNDRA SWANS stood out like icebergs in the middle of the lake. This a high
count for this species. There were also three COMMON MERGANSERS near the
Fairlea Road Bridge (Rt. 605). This is county record for me.
Other highlights included a DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT fishing, a few HORNED
GREBES, a flock of GADWALL, one male RED-BREASTED MERGANSER, and a HERRING
GULL on the ice hanging out with lots RING-BILLED GULLS.
