Hello all
Sorry for this late post but yesterday was a busy day . Well anyway it started
to rain around 3am yesterday morning & I thought it would be a good day of
looking for waterfowl when it got light enough to see on some of the ponds in
Augusta County . Pat & I started off by going out to the Swoope area . As we
were going down Rt 707 , I stopped to get a look at a Northern Harrier cruising
the open fields for a little breakfast . Then I caught something fly off of a
fence post & by the time I got my binoculars focused , it turned out to be an
Imm. Golden Eagle . This is the first time I have ever seen one out in that
area . As we made our way to the Boy Scouts Camp there in a snag was an adult
Bald Eagle . After finding these two gems of the air ways we settled down to
check out some ponds for waterfowl . Below is what we found . Northern Pintail
has a fall peak count of 20 .
