We birded Judge Rye Rd today (along the WV border), and found some very
surprising birds. We were hoping for a few warblers in the lower elevations,
and expected to run out of birds as we climbed. What we did find pretty much
blew our minds!

Broad-winged Hawk - 2
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 3
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - 2
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 4
Black-throated Green warbler - 2
Pine Warbler - 3
Black-and-white Warbler - 2
Ovenbird - 1
Scarlet Tanager - 1
Elevation 2750 - 3100:
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - 1F (a bit late)
BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEE - 14 (seen and heard singing - known to breed up
there)
RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH - 3 (seen and heard singing)
Dark-eyed Junco - 1
RED CROSSBILL - 2 (drinking from road puddle)
PINE SISKIN - 12 (mostly silent while feeding - watched for 15 minutes)
