Not to say that the Sandpipers won't be back in the morning, but I arrived at
Woodward Turf Farm at about 3:45 PM this Saturday afternoon to join 4
frustrated birders who had at that point not seen any Uplands. The heat waves
made
scoping almost worthless until a breeze came up diminishing the heat waves
which offered clearer views of the birds foraging about the sod farm,
unfortunately all Meadowlarks. The other birders left about 4:30 PM but I
stayed around
until 5:30 PM. By then scoping was excellent, but still no Uplands made
themselves visible.
Hope tomorrow's birders have better luck.
