Lori Keeler and I found 10 Upland Sandpipers in the field just
before the Woodward Turf farm sign at 10:30 Tuesday morning. There
were also a number of Meadowlarks. We then went looking for
Dickcissels near the turf farms with no luck. We finally located
a singing male on 651 about a mile west (north?) of Rt. 29. There
are extensive soybean fields on both sides of the road at this
spot. When we went past the turf farm about half an hour after
seeing the uppies we could not relocate them, but I must admit we
didn't try that hard so they might have been hunkered down.
Cheers, Joana
