Virginia birders:
Each year, the Virginia Avian Records Committee (VARCOM) adds new voting
members to replace those members who rotate off the committee after
finishing their four-year terms. We are now soliciting nominations for *two*
members to serve on VARCOM beginning in January 2018.
Prospective members have to meet these requirements:
* be a member of the Virginia Society of Ornithology
* have demonstrated expertise in the distribution and field identification
of Virginia birds
* accept the responsibilities of VARCOM membership as outlined in the
VARCOM bylaws
Chief among their responsibilities, committee members are asked to attend
an annual meeting in March and to vote promptly on bird records using the
DOVES website at http://vsodoves.org/

If you wish to nominate someone for membership or are interested in serving
