The American Birding Conservancy (ABC) has many projects in Colombia, some
close to Bogotá. This country has more bird species then any other on the face
of the planet. I suggest contacting them in The Plains, and they would be
happy to give you advice. They have a good partnership with the locals in
reserves funded by the ABC.

Subject: [Va-bird] Advice on guides - Bogota, Columbia
I am fortunate enough to have a business trip to Bogota, Columbia, at the end
of June and have scheduled a couple of "play days." I would appreciate any
advice on guide services for a day's birding outing.
I also have on my "must do" list a future birding trip to Central American -
Belize, Costa Rica, and environs.
So -- Have any of you had a good experience with a guide in Central or South
America?
Thanks
Dixie Sommers
