I went over to Hunting Creek at around 3:00 PM. I did not see the Avocet, but
I did see a Black-bellied Plover, which is my first in Fairfax County. There
were only a few other shorebirds present.

Subject: [Va-bird] American Avocet and Sanderlings at Hunting Creek, 8/15
Spent some time during lunch scoping the mudflats from Hunting Creek Bridge
in Fairfax County. Highlights were a single American Avocet and two
Sanderlings. Overall, shorebird and Laughing Gull numbers were down from
five days ago, but it was still quite birdy.
