Went by there today around 12:30 and found the Anhinga immediately. It was up at the top of one of the tall skinny dead trees in the middle. It stayed there for a while and then flew down. I was able to track it and find it. Finally got some close-up shots of the bird. No big thrill for a Floridian or Texan.. but it sure was for me:)
It has molted and lost all the tail feathers but as can be seen in some of the images, they are growing back. What are the chances it will stay around all winter?? Most of the Egrets are gone from the marsh now.
