Oh - I apologize for posting a Maryland sighting on the Virginia bird list
- but I thought some of you might want an update on how many eagles were at
Conowingo.

I did get a few eagle shots, but not as good as I wanted because the
eagles didn't come as close as I had hoped they would:

I haven't posted for quite a while, but thought I would let the list know
what I saw at Conowingo Dam yesterday.
There were roughly 100 American Bald Eagles - most were sitting on the
rocks across the river. Lots of Black Vultures too. A few dozen gulls
(I didn't try to identify them) were fishing. I was there from about
715am till 1130am. When I left I counted 100 photographers. The eagles
didn't put on many feeding shows for us though. But if you want to see a
lot of eagles, this is a good place to go to do so.
The most interesting event for me for the day was a flyover by some
Tundra Swans. Here is a shot I took of the flyover.
