Found at least 3 at about 3pm before the rain came down hard. Only one sang
consistently, but at least 2 were males. Also singing E. meadowlark over
toward the horses. Life bird, really enjoyed the song. For some reason I
had never looked up the song, and it is not on the CDs I have. Thanks Gerry
and Gerry for directions and confirming it was there!

Subject: [Va-bird] Dickcissel, Fauquier County
Fellow birders,
Several Dickcissels remain at the previously-reported
location on Grassdale Road in Remington. I arrived at this location at 7:40
this morning and saw a singing Dickcissel on a telephone wire almost as soon
as I turned onto Grassdale Road from Summerduck Road. Among the other birds
present at this location were a pair of American Kestrels. It did not appear
that there was anything noteworthy on the nearby turf farms.
