Possibility of it being a hybrid. Pretty decent size greed iridescence on ear
coverts/auriculars in the right light - a feature I have never seen in many
years of seeing thousands of Eurasian Wigeon in Europe over many years.
Otherwise plumage looks good.
Also a very strange looking hybrid duck mainly gadwall-like but also showing
Brown hood and chinstrap, buffy face. Elongated territials and small pale area
in front of black ventral patch might suggest Pintail influence. Mainly in the
company of a female Gadwall.
Huge numbers of ducks especially redhead, ring-neck and gadwall.
