one thing to note about rough wings - they do not nest communally like other
swallows, they prefer being near water, and one does not find them in large
numbers together like other swallows -i had a juvenile which had come out of a
nest under a bridge over a small stream - i released it near the potomac - i do
not think there is a perfect spot - once swallows take off, they usually know
what to do - especially if there are other swallows of other varieties flying
about - christie huffman

Thanks, everyone who weighed in on the ID of the swallow. The 100% consensus
is that it is indeed a Rough-Winged Swallow.
Now, to find a release site.....
Thank you for all your help!
