Subject: [Va-bird] Lincoln's Sparrow -- Monticello Park, Alexandria
Hi Everyone,
I arrived a bit after 9:00 this morning where the first bird I raised my
bins on was a Lincoln's Sparrow! The bird was near the lower end of the
creek, skulking in the low growth. I was able to get some wonderful views
before I lost sight of the little fellow. This was the first time I
have encountered this species at this location. The birding was rather slow
otherwise -- Blackpolls and Redstarts were the only warblers representing in
numbers. Singles of Black-throated Blues, Greens, Yellowthroats, B&W, etc.
were seen, but nothing else of note.
Happy Birding,
Will McPhail
