I have seen House Finches at our feeder like this-just an unusual
plumage with white feathers. Quite a sight and easy to pick out from the
masses.

Subject: Molting (or diseased?) Male House Finch - Burke
Among the current backyard birds (finches, sparrows, juncos, jays,
chickadees, cardinals), I've been seeing a male house finch with large white
cheek patches and cap - photos attached. Not sure if this might indicate
molting or perhaps disease.
