I ran into Jake and Bob at Pohick Bay after they had seen the Sandhill Crane.
I tried to track it down by heading out to Occoquan NWR but no luck. Occoquan
held several bald eagles, a northern harrier, a late common yellowthroat at the
end of Easy Rd, a killdeer, both kinglets, lots of ruddy ducks, lesser scaup,
black ducks, and mallards.
Great sighting Jake, Bob and Linda!

This morning while birding on a frigidly cold and windy day at Pohick Bay
Park, Bob Ward and I spotted a Sandhill Crane flying over the bay. The
single crane circled several times then flew directly over our heads, it
then proceeded out of the park in the direction of Occoquan Bay. Photos

Good birding!
