We are located south of Harrisonburg on Cannery Woods Drive. We only saw the
owl a short time. It flew out over the field and is gone. A nephew had seen a
small owl late one evening that our son thought was possibly a SW instead of a
screech because of its flight habit. We have seen the SW owls frequently at
Clair and Zig's
Highland banding station north of here, which helped us to easily identify it.
This was a first for us here at our farm. Sorry - Evelyn

Of special note to RBC and especially to Clair Mellinger and "Zig", Ben just
reported a Saw Whet Owl in our maple tree. I agreed with him! A great yard
bird for us. - Evelyn S
